Review: Rain Moisture Remy Yaky Human Hair

Yes, I wear weave, and I love it!  My love affair with loose layered waves means my barrel curling iron is my best friend in the mornings, and my real locks would not be able to withstand the abuse. My weave keeps my hair healthy and protected, while allowing me to achieve the look I want in minutes and insuring that I almost never have a bad hair day. Those who choose to wear weaves do so for different reasons; but what's really important at the end of the day is like any hairstyle is should be well kept and compliment their features, lifestyle, and personal style.

Veterans of the weave wearing game know that getting information on different hair brands requires extensive research. I have scoured the internet on many occasions looking for a review for a new brand of hair or advice on how to extend the life of hair I had installed. There are numerous videos and forums on the web dedicated to discussions on this topic but because I get so many questions about my hair I thought I'd throw my hat in the ring and contribute a few of my opinions and experiences with brands I have tried.

I purchased two packs of Rain Moisture Remy in the following:
16" NP1B/30 and 14" NP1B/30
(Purchased from ebay.)

I had a sew-in weave installed with a horseshoe leave-out at the top. Tracks were not cut during install to prevent shedding.

My styling method: I use a 1" barrel curler to curl my hair and finger comb for loose waves.

First Impressions Day 1:  Hair was soft, did not tangle, very thin, did not hold a curl very well.

Day 2: I started to like this hair a little more. It still seemed thin but had a little more body and held the curls a little better than the previous day.

The hair remained soft as the days went by but the shedding started as well.  The hair began to look even more sparse and thin.

After Wash 1
Wash 1 & 2. I use Tresseme products to shampoo and condition. I do not put products on the hair. I either allow it to air dry or when it was almost dry I used a hair dryer with a paddle brush attachment to straighten and dry it before styling. Notice in these two pictures the hair appears shorter. That is due to all the shedding! The hair remained soft. There was tangling at the nape; this is not uncommon with long lengths so take that into consideration.

Final Verdict: I removed this hair a little after two months. It was still soft, but very sparse and thin. It did maintain a soft texture and did not tangle during washing.
If you choose this hair I recommend purchasing three packages. You will need at least 2 1/2 for a full look and the leftovers can be used to fill in as the hair begins to shed. Avoid applying products as it does not hold curls very well and any added products will cause it to look lifeless and limp.

  1. Paid a lot for 2 packs and after 3 weeks washed it with a nonsulfate shampoo and after drying and styling it started to matt. I have wear my hair in a long braid for fear of matting until I can take it out. I won't not recommend buying this hair at all!
