DIY Beauty Recipes: Pore Cleansing Facial, Balancing Oil, & Lip Smoothing Scrub

It's cold, rainy and dreary here so I'm just hanging around my house today. I've got Christmas stuff to pack away and chores to do, but I decided to add a little DIY beauty to my to do list as well.  Check out a couple of easy recipes I'm whipping up today.

Deep Cleaning/Skin Brightening Facial
(Click the links for purchase info.)

Grab a glass bowl and mix the following ingredients:

2 Tablespoons of Dry Milk Powder.
The lactic acid in the milk will smooth and tone the skin
while helping to lightening hyper-pigmentation.

to improve skin texture and treat acne.

Mix all ingredients. Add a few drops of warm water if necessary until paste like consistency is achieved. Mixture will be lumpy. Spread the mixture on your face and allow to dry for twenty minutes.

Yeah, it looks like lumpy oatmeal.  Who said getting beautiful was pretty?  :P

After twenty minutes gently remove with warm water and a washcloth.

Now, moisturize with your favorite moisturizer.
I'm using my own custom organic oil blend. It's done wonders for balancing my oily skin.

Balancing Oil Recipe
(I mix an equal amount of each in a 1 oz Amber Glass Boston Round Bottle w/Glass Dropper )

Mogador Certified Organic 100% Pure Argan Oil

(The Tamanu oil is great for lightening acne scars over time.)
If you're on a budget, you can omit the emu oil and use a 50/50 mix of  the
Argan & Tamanu Oil; which works great as well.

Enjoy your soft smooth skin!!!
(I moisturize with this oil at night after washing my face as well.)

Quick Lip Scrub

Now that your face is nice and smooth, get ready to get soft supple lips.
Use this quick sugar scrub to exfoliate, soften, and smooth lips.
All you need is some sugar and olive oil.  Sprinkle the desired amount of sugar in a bowl.  Add olive oil to make a paste.  You can also add a few drops of honey for additional moisture if you desire.

Don't make the mixture too oily!

Apply the mixture to lips and gently rub.  The longer you rub the more exfoliated your lips will be.

Don't worry if you ingest a small amount of this scrub; it's all natural!

Use a warm wash cloth to remove access scrub from your lips.
Be gentle as lips will be slightly sensitive.

Moisturize & enjoy your smooth lips!

I hope you enjoyed DIY Beauty Day as much as I did. You'll find your skin will have a more radiant glow, and your foundation and lipstick will look a lot smoother. (Smooth lips look great with nude lipstick. Check out my nude lipstick suggestions and video here with more lip exfoliation tips!)
