Primadonna Style: My First Sheinside Order: Leopard Print Coat

I'm sure I'm late with the blogger trend of ordering from sheinside.com, an online store based in China that offers the latest street style looks. I've browsed their website many times to window shop the fashion forward styles, but I've always been hesitant to actually place an order for fear the fabulous fashion at reasonable prices was too good to be true. I've ordered a few ill fitting items from China before, so I wasn't sure if I wanted to take a chance and waste time, energy,and money if the items didn't meet my expectations. A markdown of a leopard print coat I've had my eye on for awhile is what made me finally decide to pull the trigger and give it a try.

My experience with items I've ordered from China in the past is that they tend to run small, so even after looking at the size chart and measuring myself several times I ordered a size medium instead of my usual size small. The next day I received an email informing me that my coat shipped . It arrived about three weeks later.

The coat is fully lined, but it definitely isn't made to withstand truly cold weather. I would say this

"coat" is no more than blazer weight as opposed to a true coat. I also found that it appeared to run true to US sizing because the medium was too big and I had to have alterations done to take in the excess fabric. It was a perfect fit in the arms and shoulders with room to move without that uncomfortable pulling sensation. What I didn't like was the puffy bottom edge of the coat; which took away from the overall finish. It took several passes of the iron on both the outside and the lining to correct this issue. A whole lot of trouble for one coat, but I do like it now. I'm just glad I got it on sale and I didn't purchase it in the dead of winter expecting it to be a heavy coat!
