For highlighting choose a concealer that is at least two shades lighter than your regular foundation. If you choose a color that is too close to your skin tone, the highlighting will be very subtle or will not show up at all.
For my highlighting I use Maybelline New York Fit Me Concealer in Deep

For contouring, I choose a color that is at least two shades darker than my regular foundation. I recently found a new product that I really like; Black Radiance Complexion Perfection Undereye Concealer in Dark
