Swatch & Review: Viva Glam Rhianna 2

MAC released Rihanna's  new VIVA GLAM Collection this past Monday.  I wasn't exactly sure what to think of the swatches that I saw online, but the love I have for Rhi Rhi Boy, from Rhianna's much loved Rhi Rhi  Hearts Collection made me want to take a chance. Wanting something more wearable for day, I passed on the frosty blue-red of Viva Glam Rhianna and decided to snatch up the mauve-ish silver frost Viva Glam Rhianna 2 Lipstick instead. 

When I first swatched Viva Glam Rhianna 2, I thought it was a silvery brown, but when I put it on my lips, it looked more gray. When I looked closer, there appeared to be a slight gold shimmer as well. The more I built the layers, the grayer it appeared. 

The color seems like it would be a bit harsh, but I am crazy about it!  The color is long lasting, goes great with my Urban Decay Naked 2 eyeshadows, and creates a gorgeous neutral look that can easily go from day to night.  

Viva Glam Rhianna 2 may not compliment those with fairer skin tones,  but I think it's a winner for women of color. I did find the formula to be slightly drying though, so you may want to use a moisturizing lip balm before application. 

Every cent of the selling price of VIVA GLAM Rihanna goes toward helping women, men and

children living with and affected by HIV/AIDS.
