We all want to maintain a youthful appearance, but we’re all going to get older - is there a way to square that circle? There sure is! There are so many tricks you can use to enhance and improve your appearance and maintain that youthful glow….

Always wear sunscreen

If you only do one thing to maintain a more youthful appearance, it should be this. The sun may feel amazing on your face, but it contains harmful UV rays that can damage dull and prematurely age your skin. Of course, much more seriously, it can also lead to skin cancer. So, if there’s sun, even just a little bit, make sure to apply your high SPF sunscreen and keep topping it up as and when necessary.

Go for warm tones

Warm tones in the hair tend to look more youthful and vibrant that cooler tones like ash, which can tend to look grayer and duller. So, if you’re looking to boost your youthfulness, try asking the salon for a warmer dye job next time you’re there.

For many of us, one of the worst signs of aging is sagging, unhealthy looking skin. Luckily, a technique known as thermage can tighten things right up and restore your youthful appearance. It’s worth considering if you aren’t happy with the state of your skin right now.

Over-draw your lips

Thinning lips tend to age the face, but no one really needs to know you have thinning lips when you can simply draw in a plumper set! All you need to do is over-draw your cupid’s bow and lower lip line with a quality lip liner that matches the color of your lips, Then you can cover with lipstick or gloss for a youthful finish. No one will ever know.

Eat right

If you want to have youthful skin, you need to grow it from the inside out. The best things to eat for good skin include fruits, vegetables, and healthy fats like avocado and oily fish. These have all of the building blocks that healthy skin requires to grow and glow. Oh, and drink lots of water to keep your skin plump and hydrated too.

Use acid

Using a decent acid peel once or twice a week - ideally, one that contains both glycolic and salicylic acid -  will prevent your skin from looking dull. They work by building collagen levels, thickening your skin, and erasing the signs of aging, such as fine lines. You can buy them at most beauty stores and they’re a great addition to any skincare regimen.

Embrace bigger brows

As we age, our eyebrows tend to get thinner and more sparse, so a good way to look more youthful is to embrace the bigger brow. Whether you’re able to maintain a thick brow naturally or you need to use a pencil to fake it, a thick brow will totally transform your face for the better.

It’s all about the attitude

Of course, the best way to maintain your youthful glow is to stay young at heart and enjoy life with as much confidence and spark as you can!
